I design the surfacesa business runs on.

A decade from the craft to VP of Design, on products millions of people use to find homes and jobs. Since then I've worked with clients and shipped software of my own, designed and built myself. I take on fewer things, own them end to end, and stay until the numbers move. Open to senior design-leadership roles.

Recent work

What the last two years made.

Client work and products of my own, with the enterprise cases underneath.

Cut-paper collage: a paper tutor holding a chalk slate at the foot of five rising torn-paper steps, a paper smartphone running a coaching app on the top step, a Classplus tag leaning against the stairs.

ClassPlus · edtech DIY builder · client work

Most tutors can teach. They can't build an app.

The do-it-yourself builder that lets a tutor pick a template, brand it, load their courses, and publish their own coaching app. Designed so a 15–20 day sales-led build becomes a flow the tutor finishes alone.

Cut-paper collage: the Pindori sweet-basil soap bar with fresh basil and a split pomegranate beside one small, mostly empty browser window.

Pindori · brand & web presence · client work

The founder asked for e-commerce. The right answer was smaller.

Pindori's founder wanted a full online store. I proposed a premium presence that sells in conversation instead, then designed and built it end to end, strategy to art direction. Live in production, launching soon.

Cut-paper collage: four paper meal boxes march toward an office worker seated at a desk, the nearest box open with a curl of steam, a tall paper smartphone showing a food-ordering screen behind the desk, a Stufd by CaterHero tag leaning against it.

Stufd by CaterHero · office food app · client work

Office lunch is a habit, not an event.

A corporate-catering app designed for the hundredth order, not the first: an HR-funded wallet, subscriptions and glanceable order tracking. Shipped to both app stores.

Watercolor banner: a man in a sage cable-knit speaks into a vintage red microphone, his voice drawn as a wavy line that settles straight and lands as handwriting on a note card a pale sage cat inspects.

Spoke · private voice notes

We speak faster than we type.

A private voice notes app for Android, designed and shipped solo. You say the idea the way it arrives, a speech model on the phone writes it down, and the audio never leaves.

Cut-paper collage: a paper astronaut glides through the gap between two torn-paper gate towers with burnt-orange lips, his dashed flight path rising and falling across a bone-paper sky under a burnt-orange planet disc.

SkyGlider · one-touch arcade

A whole game on a single control.

A one-touch arcade game for Android, designed and shipped solo. Hold to climb, release to fall, thread the gates, tuned by hand until failure feels fair enough to earn the second run.

How I think

I remove until only the one thing worth solving is left.

First principles and evidence, not opinion or trend.

Find the decision that changes the outcome

Most of a project is downstream of two or three calls. I look for those first, and get them right before anything gets drawn.

First principles, not trend

Evidence over opinion. I understand the problem before I judge the solution.

Bring the room along

A design only counts when it ships. My job is to make the organisation brave enough to ship it, and to grow the designers who do it next time.

About

The same eye, pointed at a different subject.

Wildlife photography, the other half of the practice. More at bagaria.me.

Wildlife

I studied computer science and built full-stack products as a freelancer, then took a master's in design and grew from the craft to VP of Design. Engineering is the edge underneath, the reason I can build and ship what I draw. In a room it means feasibility gets judged early, and the debate happens on a prototype, not a slide.

The craft is in the discipline, not the decoration.

Now: I'm looking for a senior design-leadership role building AI-era products. Alongside it, I run Studio Kunj, where I ship my own software, lead wildlife photography workshops, and mentor designers. In the field too, the designer and the builder in me stay on duty: India's Wild Places, a field atlas of India's parks, built so a trip can start in one place.

In their words
Abhisek brings a rare and valuable perspective to product design, combining the technical insight of a coder, the creative intuition of a designer, and the visual storytelling skills of a photographer.

He does his homework. He thinks ahead about how he can support you, what guidance to give, and what direction to suggest.
Prerna ChhajerSenior Product Designer, Proximity Works · ADPList mentee, 2025
I was wowed by multiple designs and interactions Abhisek created. He spends time to understand the problem being solved, and identifies user needs that get overlooked in the requirements.
Anuj LakhotiaProduct Leader (ex-99acres, Adobe) · Managed Abhisek, 2017
Abhisek is a standout 'A' player who not only solves what is given to him but goes beyond. He has a relentless approach to design, constantly identifying problems and being proactive at solving those.

Apart from being a great UX leader, he is also a techie, which sets him apart from other UX folks. I would recommend Abhisek to any organization looking for a rockstar problem solver.

A talented engineer and a creative designer, he can design as well as code himself while implementing the UI/UX. He has a keen eye for detail and is never tired of iterating and taking feedback at each stage.
Pradnya PatilSenior Designer, Microsoft · Worked together, 2017
Abhisek is one of the few driven people I have seen, clear about their path and goals. His acumen for design and the earnest desire to create something subtle and endearing separates him from the bandwagon.
